- Formatting toolbar in the message composer. Click the Aa button next to the emoji button to open it. It inserts markdown for you: bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, code blocks, links, quotes, bulleted and numbered lists, headings, subscript and superscript. Select text first to wrap it, or click a button again to take the formatting back off. It stays collapsed until you open it and remembers your choice. You can still type markdown by hand.
- The toolbar's ? button opens the formatting help in a new tab, so your draft isn't lost.
Fixed
- Links straight to a section of the Help page (like /help#formatting) now scroll to that section instead of landing at the top.
Other
- Earlier this cycle (v2026.9.26 and v2026.9.28): live message delivery now recovers on its own after Redis restarts, and the desktop app's tray unread indicator clears only when you actually open the room.
